How Do I Know How Long My e-Apostille Order Will Take
Understanding your e-Apostille processing time helps you plan around important deadlines. This guide explains how to check your order timeline, what affects processing speed, and how to track progress through your online account.
Key points:
- Processing time depends on your document and any required verification checks
- Track status updates in your online account
- FCDO processing times can vary during busy periods

Everything You Need for a Fast Legalisation Service
Your e-Apostille is issued directly by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO). Our team will verify the document and organise valid electronic solicitor certification to avoid delays.
Understanding Your Order Processing Time
Understanding Your Order Processing Time
When you place your e-Apostille order, the processing time depends primarily on which document requires legalisation. We aim to process all orders as quickly as possible and, once we have verified your document, most orders are completed within 24 hours. Some documents can take longer to verify than others.
Processing times are working days only and exclude weekends and UK bank holidays. If you place an order on Friday afternoon, for example, processing typically begins on Monday morning.
Checking Your Order Status Online
Checking Your Order Status Online
Your online account provides updates about your order status. Log in using the email address you entered during checkout to view detailed progress information.
The account dashboard shows all your orders with current status indicators. You can see which stage each order is at, from document receipt through to completed apostille delivery.
Status updates appear automatically as your order progresses through different processing stages.
What Different Status Messages Mean
What Different Status Messages Mean
The order status will be updated whenever meaningful progress occurs. Here are some order statuses you may see:
Waiting for document(s) to arrive from customer: Once you have placed your order this will be the first status you see. At this stage we are simply waiting to receive your document(s).
Document has arrived and will now be checked: This is the next logical step in the process. This indicates we have received your document(s) and will be reviewing this to ascertain any additional verification requirements.
Verification requested, awaiting reply: If we contact the issuing authority to request verification of your document you will see this status.
Client arranging verification to us, awaiting verification before continuing: In some cases, we may need you to contact the issuing authority to instruct them to email some direct verification to us. Some authorities insist on this instruction coming from the person named on the document as opposed to a third party. We will let you know if this is required.
Document is being presented to the solicitor for certification: This is the next meaningful update. It means we have all we need to continue with the order and we are organising the electronic solicitor certification.
Document Submitted to FCDO for e-apostille: Almost there! This status confirms your document has been certified and is now with the FCDO being legalised with the e-Apostille.
Document completed: Your order is complete and we will email this to you as soon as that is the case.
In addition to online account updates, we send email or text notifications (if you opt in to this at the time of order) at key stages of processing. You receive confirmation when we receive your documents, when processing completes, and when your e-Apostille is delivered. Check your spam folder if you do not see expected notifications.
