Security Features in Your e-Apostille

Security Features in Your e-Apostille

Your completed e-Apostille includes multiple security features that protect it and allow receiving authorities to verify its authenticity.

Digital Signatures:

Both the solicitor certification and the FCDO e-Apostille include valid electronic signatures. Any attempt to modify the document after signing will invalidate these signatures.

Verification URL:

The e-Apostille will contain a verification URL linking directly to the UK Government Site allowing the e-Apostille to be verified.

Tamper Proof:

Any modifications to the file – even changing a single character – will render the signatures invalid, meaning any tampering is immediately evident.

Unique Reference Numbers:

Each e-Apostille has a unique reference number in section 8. This number is used to check the authenticity of an e-Apostille with the FCDO.
