apostille delivery options

When your document has been legalised we will return the document and apostille to you. The method of delivery is selected when you order online. For a detailed breakdown of costs and times, visit our apostille delivery page.

e-Apostilles

When you choose our e-Apostille service, you’ll receive your fully legalised document as a PDF via email. This is ideal when you need a verified apostille quickly and in digital format.

After you complete your order online, our team handles the verification (fees may apply) and processing with the FCDO Legalisation Office.

As soon as your e-Apostille is issued, we email it directly to the address you provided.

You can download or forward the PDF file as needed. There’s no waiting for postal delivery. You will need Adobe Reader to view the e-Apostille. You cannot view the complete e-Apostille file on a mobile phone.

Paper Apostilles

If you require a physical copy of your legalised document, our paper apostille service ensures your document is returned in hard-copy form by post or courier. You can order from within the UK or from abroad.

UK Return Delivery

Choose from:

  • First Class Post: Usually 2-3 working days via standard Royal Mail. No tracking or insurance included.

  • Next Working Day Courier: A fully tracked, insured UK courier service (Mon-Fri) for urgency.

Overseas Delivery

We provide two international options:

  • Airmail: The more economical choice for global shipping. Delivery is typically ~2 weeks within Europe, ~3-4 weeks beyond Europe. Tracking and insurance are not included.

  • Express DHL Courier: A faster, fully tracked and insured service—most destinations receive in 1-3 working days (remote areas may take longer).

Please note: delivery times are estimates only. Processing the apostille itself typically takes 1-2 working days, after which the document is forwarded via your chosen delivery channel.

Choose the delivery method that best suits the importance of your documents, your deadline and your budget. Whether you’re in the UK or overseas, we’ll return your document by the option you select.

Conclusion

If you prefer immediate digital access and global convenience, the e-Apostille (PDF via email) is the best option. If you require a physical certificate you can choose your method of shipping. We offer UK First Class, UK Courier, International Airmail or International Express Courier for the delivery of our paper apostille service.

Choosing the right delivery and return methods for your UK document requiring an apostille is a crucial part of the legalisation process. It’s important to consider the balance between safety, speed, and cost. Using trusted and reliable delivery services can ensure that your documents are both securely and efficiently handled throughout the apostille process.

Delivery times are a guide. We use third party services to deliver your physical documents. Delays can occur.
